What age do I need to start taking required minimum distributions?
Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) are the minimum amounts that individuals must withdraw annually from most retirement accounts, such as traditional IRAs, once they reach a certain age. The purpose of RMDs is to ensure that retirement savings are eventually taxed, as the contributions to these accounts were typically tax-deferred.
For most individuals, the RMD age is 73. These distributions must be taken by the end of the year, but we recommend taking them by December 15th.
At what age can I withdraw from my retirement accounts without penalty?
Generally, withdrawals made before age 59½ from traditional and Roth IRAs are considered early distributions and subject to a 10% penalty, in addition to being taxed as ordinary income.
Can I text or email you fund requests?
