A Family Business
Focal Point was founded in 1987 by Dale Hedstrand. The original office was on Country Rd. D in Roseville, MN. Dale initially focused on serving churches and non-profit organizations with their retirement plans, investments, and employee benefits.
In 1991, Dale purchased the office space at 2214 5th Street, Suite 1, in beautiful downtown White Bear Lake. We've been there ever since!
Jason Hedstrand joined his father Dale in the business in the summer of 2002. Jason had just retired as an elite athlete, competing in longtrack speedskating in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. Together, father and son, worked to continue Focal Point into the second generation.
In 2010, Dale's Parkinson's disease forced him to retire. In May of 2012, Char Pendergrass joined Focal Point as the "Health Insurance Guru."
Today, Jason, Char, Becky, and Carly continue the legacy that Dale started. We are forever grateful to work with wonderful clients and make many lasting friendships.
